“The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty.”

Most of us know God is not opposed to careful planning. Moving forward without it, according to Solomon and as witnessed by most of us, can lead to disaster. There are certainly times when God says to move and we are to move pretty quickly, but that tends to be the exception rather than the rule. We don’t have a God of disorder. We don’t serve a God who is controlled by, or has His children controlled by, the tyranny of the urgent. That was a concept we were taught in the early years of our ministry training. Often, when we live from one urgent crisis to another, we find our lives not only out of control but also out of God’s plan. The longer we walk with God, the more our reactions can be trusted to align with His desires for us. Planning isn’t the only way we see God work through us. I have been known to create some beautiful and very elaborate plans. However, it is when I diligently pursue God and put my hand to the plow that He can work more freely and completely through me. Today, let God lead your planning, and then diligently work His plan. #BeTheEdge
