“Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor, for we are all members of one body.” Ephesians‬ ‭4‬:‭25

Who in the world winks? I have to admit, none of my friends wink, certainly not at me or in my presence. There is something about a person who does that that is a bit suspect. Any time I’ve witnessed winking, it usually implied an inside joke or story at the expense of someone else who was present. It implied being on the inside or the deception of others. Ok, when one of my little grandkids shared a wink with me it was pretty adorable but that’s about it. Otherwise I don’t like it. I guess that’s pretty clear. At the very least, it communicates a lack of genuineness or honesty. Being sly is never admirable, and it does not reflect Jesus. Being loud and somewhat foolish may be okay in the stands at a sporting event, though probably not. It certainly doesn’t lead to godly behavior either. Solomon is addressing areas that do not reflect a follower of God. As born-again believers in the Savior, we should want everything we do to reflect Him. In today’s culture, it is perhaps as easy as it’s ever been to look like our Savior. Being true, sincere, quiet, and steady are all things the lost world is screaming for and needs to see. Today, reflect your King. #BeTheEdge
