“For those who find me find life and receive favor from the LORD.”
I love hunting with good friends. My first hunting experience was riding on the hood of my friends car along the power lines in a new development and shooting doves (maybe pigeons). Okay, that sounds like a stupid idea, even at 15 years old. Every hunting adventure since then that I’ve had with him has ultimately been a variation of that theme. A rickety 2×4 in the rain with a .22. Yep, I learned later that was not quite kosher. We often ended up lost in the woods as well. On the other hand, I have another good friend who took me hunting a number of times, and each outing began with careful preparation and almost too many instructions. In this chapter, Solomon is advising us to look to God for wisdom and wise counsel. That’s what my second, wiser friend represented. It is like having a GPS while driving through a storm. When we find Jesus, He provides everything we need—everything. We are seldom taking advantage of or using all that God offers us at any given place in our daily walk. Today, let God be your guide. #BeTheEdge
