“for receiving instruction in prudent behavior, doing what is right and just and fair;”

I’ve never met an angry or selfish person who was in the midst of doing what was right, just, and fair. It is difficult at those times to be anything other than kind. I know there are exceptions to that statement; however, they are the exception. Jesus did show a righteous anger while clearing those who were taking advantage of His people in the temple. He certainly took a shot at a fig tree. Whatever your theology does with those examples, there are many more examples of Him dealing tenderly with a mother who had lost her son, a woman who had suffered for years with an issue of bleeding, a child battling illness, and on and on. We reflect Jesus when we are kind. We also show the world who our God is when we show Him by doing—not speaking, but doing—what is right, just, and fair. Right means we are treating others with goodness and compassion. Just means, “standing up for truth, stopping wrongdoing, and protecting the vulnerable or oppressed.” (AI resource) And fair means everyone receives the same God-given standard, with no partiality. Jesus tells us in Matthew and Luke’s Gospels what this looks like. To bless the world we live in, we live out this passage and watch lives be changed.
