“Even small children are known by their actions, so is their conduct really pure and upright?”
I have eight grandchildren. If you have grandkids, you know what an amazing testimony they are to God’s desire that life must go on. I’ve mentioned before how much fun they are and how they constantly amaze and surprise me. The other day, I was in a deep conversation with my eight-year-old granddaughter. As she was trying to help me understand a recent interaction she had with one of her little peers, she finally said, very respectfully, “You just don’t understand childhood, Granddaddy.” Huh? One thing that constantly blesses my soul is their kindness. When my seven-year-old grandson comes over, he waters my ferns and checks to see if my trash needs emptying. At the other end of the spectrum, my oldest granddaughter, now 21, will come over and change the bandage on my foot or help with anything else I need. If any of them walk by my truck and see something heavy in the bed, they grab it—whether it needs to come out or not. They are all so kind. Want to know what blesses our Heavenly Father’s heart? See how your little ones bless yours. That being said, we also have to recognize that a battle rages within every one of us. There is the spark of the image of God in which we were all created, and there is the influence of the evil one, who seeks to exploit every part of our fallen nature. Thankfully, my grandchildren have been raised to reflect the Risen One. Today, make sure God is the model you follow as His beloved child. #BeTheEdge
