“The wise prevail through great power, and those who have knowledge muster their strength.”

In today’s world, perhaps because of movies and television, people with physical strength seem to have an edge in life. They are the superheroes, spies, and detectives who typically solve the crimes and save the day. When Solomon talks about the wise having great power or mustering their strength, it truly has nothing to do with physical strength or power. “In Christianity, influential figures who lacked physical or worldly power include Saint Thérèse of Lisieux, who championed the ‘Little Way’ of quiet, everyday faithfulness; Brother Lawrence, a monk whose entire legacy rests on finding God in the mundane duty of washing dishes; and the Israelite servant girl of Naaman’s wife, who used gentle, humble words to guide her master to a miracle. (AIResource). In more modern times, we have Mother Teresa of Calcutta, who had an impact not just on those who were down and out in her area, but across the world. Perhaps one of the best examples of someone who lacked the physical prowess we so often associate with impact and leadership is the apostle Paul. He was a squirrely little religious guy with really bad eyesight when God brought him to His side and used him to write much of the New Testament and shake up the world in his day and beyond. You may be physically strong and have a huge IQ. Receive those gifts from the Lord and put them to work in His kingdom. But realize that if you don’t have that, His power and strength can still work through you. Today, walk with Him and change your world. #BeTheEdge
