“A king delights in a wise servant, but a shameful servant arouses his fury.”‭‭

I was meeting with a business owner the other day, and we were talking about how his company was growing as a Biblical Worldview company. During the conversation, he talked about how blessed he was to have leaders on his team whom he could trust and who shared the values of being a Kingdom company. As he talked about the people on his team, it became obvious that he felt they were the kind of servants Solomon describes in this verse. “Wise workers carefully consider their actions, are trustworthy, and enhance the reputation of those in authority” (Calvary). I love the image of enhancing the reputation of their leaders. When we recognize that how we carry out our tasks reflects on those we work for, we also recognize that how we carry out not only our work, but all other areas of our lives, reflects on our King. We represent Jesus in what we say and do when we claim to be His children. Too many people today turn away from God not because of who He is, but because of who His people are. It’s a lousy excuse, but it is one that is often used. A friend close to me has commented more than once that the non-Christians he works with are often more likely to keep their word, do what they say, and pay their bills on time than many of the Christian leaders he ends up doing business with. I know that is not always the case, but it is a sad reflection on some of God’s followers. Today, reflect your Heavenly Father. #BeTheEdge
