“A person may think their own ways are right, but the Lord weighs the heart.”

At lunch yesterday, a friend was talking about a friend of his who received a pig valve for a heart problem. He next told us that the friend said it worked great except it made their heart race whenever they went by a barbecue restaurant. Pretty cute.
Today at lunch, I was discussing ministry with another friend, and the conversation drifted toward building relationships being critical to effective evangelism. We were talking about the newest The Edge resource on how to turn your business into an evangelistic outreach for God’s kingdom. He mentioned that Jesus was the model of relational evangelism. I agree. However, Jesus could and did greatly reduce the time needed because, unlike us, He could instantly see into the other person’s heart and thereby read their exact point of greatest felt need. Even the best of us want to believe that when we are operating with our best intentions, we are on the right track. Solomon lets us know that ultimately we never really know, but God always does. It is easy to want to judge another person, but try , without the ability to know them and their hearts, it is only arrogant to try.
Today, believe the best about others and let God be their judge. #BeTheEdge
