Albert Einstein, Marie Curie, and Michael Faraday are pretty well-known names for their brilliant contributions to the world. What is not often talked about is their profound humility. Here is one many of us don’t instantly recognize: Srinivasa Ramanujan, a self-taught mathematical genius. Ramanujan formulated thousands of complex theorems that continue to shape mathematics today. Despite his unparalleled abilities and sudden global recognition, his mentor, G. H. Hardy, noted his childlike modesty and deep, unassuming reverence for the beauty of numbers. (AIResource) A name many of us recognize who fits the combination of amazing talent and an extremely humble attitude is Keanu Reeves. The stories of his humble lifestyle and service to others, including the casting crew on his projects are legendary. Arrogant talent is often seen and easy to recognize. Sadly, too many examples of arrogant people who fall into sin and even criminal activity are evident both inside and outside the church. For a believer, humility should not be difficult. Knowing the sin in our lives that required a Savior, and recognizing the amazing purity of that sacrifice, should humble us. The most impactful ministers and kingdom leaders I’ve known were incredibly humble people. Today, recognize the source of all your gifts and steward them with humility. #BeTheEdge
