“At the end of your life you will groan, when your flesh and body are spent.”

It’s been said that the main difference between being old and young is the noises you make when you stand up. There’s certainly some truth to that in my case. The promise of this day for us as believers is that we will rise and receive a brand-new body. I can hardly fathom it. It will be a body gifted to us at the resurrection by our Creator God. Steve Brown has said that if we could see one another 100 years from now in our resurrected bodies, we would be tempted to bow down and worship each other. We celebrate the resurrected Christ every day, and especially on this day. There will be no more moaning or groaning. I lost my wife a number of years ago, and even more recently, my eldest son. Part of how I handle that is with the knowledge that today they live in resurrected bodies that will never feel the pain of cancer, heart attacks, Alzheimer’s, or anything else ever again. They’ve passed through that thin curtain from here to eternity, and God promises no more pain and no more tears. That is what Easter Sunday represents—and that is something to celebrate. Your Savior is risen, and therefore, one day, you will be as well. Today, live in the reality of the empty tomb and the resurrected Savior. #BeTheEdge

“So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable; it is raised imperishable;” 1 Corinthians 15:42 NIV
