“Counsel and sound judgment are mine; I have insight, I have power.”
Wisdom—the wisdom of God—claims a lot of positive characteristics and traits in this chapter. One of the most important is in the Hebrew word used here for power. “The word ‘power’ refers to strength, might, and enabling capacity… it signifies that divine wisdom provides the inner strength and competence necessary to live, lead successfully, and overcome challenges.” (AI resource) Inner strength and confidence are not often associated with having power these days. It is why a woman like Mother Teresa was so powerful. A Nobel Prize was the acknowledgment of her influence and impact on thousands and thousands of lives. Many parts of the world are different today because of this tiny, soft-spoken, yet powerful woman. The power that God gives can shake mountains, launch stars across the sky, and raise a Savior from the dead. However, it can also very quietly change the course of lives for eternity. In the same way a gently flowing river over time cuts through rock, the Holy Spirit working through His people is not always loud, harsh, or abrasive, but often gentle and kind. And today, that does not sound powerful. In God’s economy, it may represent the most powerful force on the planet. Today, let the indwelling Spirit of God bring power to your story. #BeTheEdge
