“For your ways are in full view of the Lord, and he examines all your paths.”

What sins do you commit in private? They may be only in your mind. You may engage in them with others. Whatever they are, most of the time people knowingly sin in private or in darkness. That is a pretty good indication that we know they are wrong. If we try to hide them, there is a reason. More often than not, that reason is the coming guilt and shame. If we knew our sin was in plain view of others, we would most likely not do it, or at least attempt to “dress it up” a bit. Regardless, we know when wrong is wrong. When I worked with young people, I was often asked if certain things were sin. Most often the answer was yes—and they already knew it. My standard rule to them was, “When in doubt, don’t.” Along with that is the reality that our secret thoughts and actions are all fully seen by our unseen Father. That truth can be easy to ignore. An unseen God can be forgotten at times. We may even trick ourselves into ignoring His presence. Regardless of the mental gymnastics, He is never gone. Thankfully, He’s not hovering around just waiting to catch us doing wrong. He is always present to walk with us, fight for us, and redeem us. Today, recognize His presence and walk in it. #BeTheEdge
