“Therefore disaster will overtake him in an instant; he will suddenly be destroyed—without remedy.”

It’s never a good idea to put off dealing with sin. Although this passage speaks directly to a villain or evil person who has no desire to confront their sin, the truth applies to followers of Christ as well. There is a temptation to play with sin, believing we can go just far enough and then turn back before reaching a point of destruction. But that is like someone walking to the edge of a cliff, wondering how close they can get without going over. They only discover the truth by taking one step too far—and realizing they should have stopped one step earlier. “Disaster in an instant” and “without remedy” paint a frightening picture. The real key is to stay as far away from the edge of the cliff—or the reality of sin—as possible. Flirting with sin only ends in disaster. Today, flee temptation and pursue God. #BeTheEdge

“But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness.” 1 Timothy 6:11 NIV
