“Evildoers do not understand what is right, but those who seek the Lord understand it fully.”

Honest people will admit that there are often more than one reasonable side or opinion on many issues. These days, we see most people grab a side and plant their opinion squarely in their lives. I recently read this about the formation of firm opinions: “Firm opinions are formed through a combination of personal experiences, reinforcement of facts, and social influence, often acting as cognitive shortcuts to reduce uncertainty. They are strengthened by supporting beliefs with evidence, surrounding oneself with like-minded individuals, and experiencing less ambiguity on a topic.” (AI resource) None of those elements of opinion formation are necessarily wrong. However, Solomon—as well as other places throughout the Bible—gives us the only truly infallible source of understanding. When we focus on Jesus and His truth to understand what is going on in and around our lives, we will eventually come to a place of clear understanding. That’s with planting your life in. We may be surprised at times by where He leads us. We may even have a firm opinion changed. There are many reasons why God leads us to new understanding, but at its core it is to expand our understanding—and the understanding of others—of Him, His Kingdom, and who His followers are. Today, allow God to give you His understanding to reflect to the world. #BeTheEdge
