“One who is slack in his work is brother to one who destroys.”

There’s certainly no improving on Solomon’s words—specifically because these words are God’s words, delivered through Solomon. That being said, and recognizing that it is only Jesus’ words I would dare add, I believe we could also state the truth in this verse this way: one who is slack in his work does not know who he is working for. Scripture, specifically in the New Testament, makes it clear that we are working for God. No matter who we believe our boss is, no matter who we believe owns the company or ultimately earns the profit, our boss clearly is our Creator God. In the Biblical Worldview Training, the very first hallmark and discipline states that we acknowledge God created all things—including us and our company. Obviously, if we are slacking in our work and don’t understand who we ultimately answer to for our efforts, we do stand at risk of destroying what we are called to do. Slack workers are known to be the source of many accidents because of a lack of attention and effort. They are also known to cost clients and customers. There is nothing positive that comes out of a slack worker—only destruction. Today, work with the effort of one who knows our Boss is the King of kings and deserves our very best. #BeTheEdge
