“Instruct the wise and they will be wiser still; teach the righteous and they will add to their learning.”
In the early days of social media, I made the mistake of believing that some people wanted dialogue. I quickly found out that was not the case, and I stopped attempting it. That was years ago. Social media now is simply an outlet for sharing the daily proverb along with some encouraging or inspirational thoughts. It’s also a place to make sure the world understands just how amazing and adorable my grandkids are. By comparison, in more than a decade and a half of sharing daily devotions from Proverbs on social media and through various other means, I have received a review or correction only once. In reality, I probably should have received many more, but the audience is different, gracious. Most of the people—like you, I would assume—who read this daily or at least somewhat regularly are righteous people who are simply looking for challenge and encouragement as they seek to live lives that honor God and grow His Kingdom. They aren’t looking for arguments. They’re looking to discuss truth and reflect Jesus. Today would be a good time to ignore the foolish and interact with the wise. #BeTheEdge
