“Evildoers do not understand what is right, but those who seek the Lord understand it fully.”

The reason our moms used to say, “If everyone was jumping off a cliff, would you?” was because, at least in my case, whenever I made a bad request to do something, I would wrap it in the classic justification: “Everybody else is doing it,” or, “Their parents are letting them do it.” In a similar way, we live in a world of what the Bible refers to as blind people living in the dark. That is as dangerous as it sounds. What followers of Christ sometimes struggle to fully grasp is that these people genuinely don’t understand why what they believe or do is wrong. As hard as it can be to watch, the truth is that lost people do lost things. Conversely, we who call ourselves Christ-followers are without excuse when we choose to ignore God and join in with the world. We do know better. God paid a great price to bring us out of the darkness and give us the Light. That’s part of the reason why seeing a fellow believer walk in willful sin is so painful for those in the Kingdom—we know they know better. Jesus was known as the Light of the world. He reveals the wisdom and heart of God. The old movement of asking ourselves What Would Jesus Do? (WWJD) before making a decision is not a burden; it’s a gift. We get to know how the King of the universe lived and calls us to live. That’s almost beyond rational comprehension—yet it’s true. Today, ask yourself what Jesus would do… and then do it. #BeTheEdge
