This is the person who has sincerity and a heart aligned with God’s desire for integrity. When they speak, it is kind, honest, and wise. This is how Solomon describes a person of great influence. Being this person is a great goal for us. Who doesn’t want to be around that kind of person? I sure do. Knowing that someone is not looking to manipulate or hurt you, but only wants the best in your life, will certainly make their company desired by many. I have a few of these people in my life, and they make the journey so much more enjoyable. They also help me feel empowered. I know when they speak—whether encouragement or correction—it comes from a place of love for me and my story. They are an example for me to be the same way. Even the evil or those with bad intentions want to know the people around them have only good intentions toward them. Everyone in our lives will obviously not be like this person. Our goal should not be to rid our lives of those who aren’t, but instead to be that person ourselves and to learn to distinguish who is and who isn’t. The difference begins with the person who is genuinely walking with Jesus and pursuing Him. We cannot do that and not be changed to be more like Him. He was the perfect example of this person.
