“All the words of my mouth are just; none of them is crooked or perverse.”

Most days I wear a rubber bracelet that says 429. It stands for Ephesians 4:29. My good friend Coach Mark Jackson had them made and gives them out by the thousands to remind the wearer of a message he shares about that particular verse. It is perhaps one of the most needed challenges for young people today—and for adults as well. It is about what comes out of our mouths. It encourages us to speak only uplifting and encouraging words. It is about speaking life to one another. The world is full of bullies. Most bullying never involves physical contact. In its most common form, it is carried out through hurtful, destructive words. These words kill and destroy a person’s soul. The redemptive nature of just words is a gift we can offer to a world being inundated by evil, devilish lies. Knowing the value God has placed on each life should be all we need to guard our mouths. Today, speak love, kindness, and life. #BeTheEdge

“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.” Ephesians 4:29 NIV
