Sin is not necessarily ugly to look at. It often looks like us. Satan used—or rather, misused—scripture to try and tempt Jesus in the desert. Without more than a cursory understanding of God’s Word, we can be led into sin. Many cults twist God’s truth to fool weak people into following them. Knowing and understanding scripture—along with working to grasp the fullness of God—is necessary to ward off the clever deceptions of the evil one.
