“The wise prevail through great power, and those who have knowledge muster their strength.”
I have a grandson who is 6 feet 5 inches tall and weighs a bunch. He’s a weightlifter. At 17 years old, he could out-lift me. I don’t just mean he lifted more weight than me—that’s a given. I mean he could lift more than twice my weight. He is definitely powerful. However, when we lost his dad—my son—six months ago, that’s not where his power or strength came from. I have a close friend whose net worth is more than 100 times mine. But when his marriage fell apart, his wealth wasn’t where his strength and power came from. I have another friend who was a Senior Vice President at one of the largest corporations in America. He was being groomed to take over the company leadership within a couple of years. But none of that gave him strength and power when the FBI entered his home and arrested him for what would become a 10-year sentence in federal prison. He met Jesus there. All of them overcame these challenges through the wisdom and strength that come from knowing Jesus. Solomon—of all men—knew the foolishness of putting our trust in anything other than the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. No matter where you find your strength and power, if it’s not in the Lord, it can leave you or fail you. He is the only guaranteed constant who will never let you down. He can’t let you down—it goes entirely against His nature. Today, find your strength and power at the source: Jesus. #BeTheEdge
