“He holds success in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless,”
In the Biblical Worldview Training for Business Leaders, one of the foundational truths is this: “We believe that true success and satisfaction come from conducting our lives and our company in obedience to Him.” This view of success is illustrated through the story of John the Baptist. John played an integral role in God’s plan—he was called to prepare the people for the arrival of the Messiah, Jesus. For John, success meant paving the way for Christ. Imagine if, during the height of his ministry—baptizing thousands, gaining notoriety, and experiencing widespread popularity—John had allowed success to go to his head. It would have been easy for him to stray from his calling. We’ve seen modern examples of this in rapidly growing churches and businesses, where leaders succumbed to the trappings of sin and the world’s definition of success. Thankfully, John didn’t. He remained grounded in his God-given purpose. He knew his role was to prepare the way for Jesus—and he stayed faithful to it. Our calling is the same. Whether you’re a CEO or a janitor, every role God assigns is essential in His plan to reveal Himself and His Kingdom to a world that is desperately seeking. Today, live your call. #BeTheEdge
