“then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.”
There is a lot of hunting, searching, and seeking that leads to understanding and discovery. Knowing God is a participation sport. I love that when we first come to Christ, He gifts us with immediate grace. Of course, the greatest gift is the seal of eternal life. However, He also seems to move supernaturally in the lives of individual followers, offering instant affirmation that the supernatural is at work in their story. When someone would pray to receive Christ with me, I would always encourage them to do three things: First, I would tell them to read John chapter 3 three times. This would help them begin engaging with His Word and see clearly what took place. Second, I’d encourage them to tell three people who would be excited about their decision. This would help them build confidence to share their transformational truth. Finally, I’d tell them to watch for changes in their attitude and actions. I’d explain that there is no way the indwelling presence of the third person of the Trinity could take up residence within them without transformation occurring. The journey of discovery begins that day but continues through seeking and pursuing God Himself. Today, pursue Him. #BeTheEdge
