“Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint; but blessed is the one who heeds wisdom’s instruction.”

I wrestled with using different translations for this verse. I’ve always preferred the KJV translation that says, “Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.” A life that is unfocused, one without a goal, tends to drift aimlessly. It is a dangerous way to live, one that can lead to a meaningless and possibly destructive existence. When a person or a company loses its vision, its purpose becomes short-lived, and an “anything goes” attitude can take the driver’s seat. This gives rise to the inability to clearly determine whether they are on the right path to execution or capable of having an eternal impact. Who wants to live and work that way? Conversely, living God’s way will not lack His blessing. Knowing His law and how it relates to our daily activities acts as a rudder for our journey. To summarize: having no revelation or vision means having no understanding of God’s will, or even knowing that it is available. The opposite comes from walking in the wisdom and instruction of our Father, obeying His truth. Today, walk in His vision. #BeTheEdge
