“These are more proverbs of Solomon, compiled by the men of Hezekiah king of Judah:”

I just asked a few of my grandkids what they think of that they hear me say often. They were pretty silly names I call them as well as some fun comments I make. Nothing particularly profound. A couple days ago on our weekly “Be The Edge” Challenge call the person sharing told a few stories about the man he worked for who passed away recently. Each story tied into a verse from Proverbs. That’s profound. In this verse we see that we are about to read passages the men of Hezekiah recalled from King Solomon. Even more profound. Approximately 250 years after Solomon reigned King Hezekiah reigned. During his reign he had his scholars pull together more of Solomons words of wisdom to create chapters 25 – 29 in the book of Proverbs. This shows God’s using men to preserve His truth. He does the same thing today through His children, specifically us. When we speak His words we are representing Him. When we live out His words we are also representing Him. It is incumbent on us to do both accurately. The stories shared on our weekly call were examples of the words from Proverbs coming alive in a persons life. Today be a living representation of God’s truth. #BeTheEdge
