“A violent person entices their neighbor and leads them down a path that is not good.”

The last phrase in this verse literally means ‘that is very sinful’. Solomon left no doubt what this person was up to and where they wanted to drag others. I live in a neighborhood with a loose HOA. Thankfully most of us tend to look out for each other. I’ve mentioned how my closest neighbors have my back and I have theirs. I don’t ever want to move. Over the years I’ve seen stories about other Home Owners Associations that almost seem to be set up to create conflict. How about this headline from KSAT in Austin Texas, “HOA calls police to enforce lawn mowing regulation. Fatal shootout ensues.” Makes me very thankful for my happy, easy going group of neighbors. The person in this verse is more subtly evil in their intent and approach. They also do not necessarily live beside those they try to entice into evil behavior with them. We are all aware that people doing wrong seek out others to join them. This violent person wants to destroy others with a team. They will slither up beside someone, suggest a small but seemingly harmless indiscretion, then as movement is made in that direction they will grow their plot. Ultimately their neighbor is caught up in their evil. Don’t fall for the very sinful. Today listen to the voice of wise counsel and the Holy Spirit. #BeTheEdge
