Here is the extreme. Most serial killers have been described as nice guys. Some were even referred to as kind and fun. They certainly were not. In this verse Solomon telling us that a person can often fool others by seeming like a good or thoughtful person only to be truly awful in their real intent. This does not only refer to serial killers. It is much more common in some average people. They manipulate and deceive to get what they want. The writer makes it clear that deceivers true heart and intentions will be discovered. As a matter of fact he lets us know that their deception will be revealed to many people. I’m sure you have experienced this. I can remember a few people almost instantly that I was fool by in this way. They actually fooled a number of people. A couple of them have shown their real colors and now are not only unwelcome by many but have lost all credibility as well. It was difficult to go through this however, it was a reminder that only God truly knows another’s heart. It is a good time to practice forgiveness and move on. All evil and dishonest people will stand before God. Our callings are to important to allow holding on to past hurts of any kind to hold us back. Today be wise in the Lord and walk in integrity. #BeTheEdge
